(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman was arrested after she allegedly bit and scratched a male during a domestic fight on Sunday afternoon.
Lawrence County police were called to a home in the 310 block of Woodsferry Road at 3:35 p.m. after a man reported his wife was threatening him with a large kitchen knife.
When police arrived, 50-year-old Andrea Rose ran into another room and locked the door.
"Officers were able to coax her out of the room," says Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults. "The male victim had been bitten and scratched by Rose."
She was arrested and taken to IU Health Hospital for medical clearance due to her high-level of intoxication.
Once there Rose attempted to remove her handcuffs and attempted to leave the hospital fleeing from officers. She was stopped and transported to the Lawrence County Jail on a charge of domestic battery.
