(BEDFORD) - Three people were injured in a rear-end collision at the traffic light at US 50 East and 16th Street on Thursday morning.
According to a Bedford Police report, 55-year-old Roger Lankford of Paoli was traveling northbound on US 50 East and had stopped at the intersection at 16th Street when his 2013 Chevrolet Malibu was struck in the rear by a 2003 Kenworthy tractor trailer driven by 50-year-old Robert Haymaker of Mitchell.
Haymaker told police he was approaching the intersection at 16th Street and was behind the Malibu that was slowing down even though the light was green. Haymaker told police had looked over to check the time and when he focused back on the roadway, the Malibu had stopped and he was unable to stop his semi and struck the rear of the car.
Lanford and his passenger, 87-year-old Bret Lankford, both complained of lower leg pain and were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Haymaker also complained of lower right leg pain but refused medical attention.
