(LOOGOOTEE) - The Martin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop Tuesday night that resulted in of a Loogootee man on meth and marijuana charges.
Police arrested 22-year-old Tyler Tinker on charges of possession of meth, marijuana and a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Tuesday at 9:52 p.m., Sergeant Keith Keller and Deputy Danny Salmon were patrolling near Loogootee when they observed a gold Toyota passenger car commit a traffic violation.
The officers initiated a traffic stop on State Road 550 west of Brooks House Road.
During the traffic stop, the driver, Tinkle, gave Sergeant Keller a small amount of marijuana and a grinder from inside the vehicle.
Loogootee Police Captain Jason Hennette and Sergeant Rick Norris arrived moments later and helped search the vehicle. During the search police found meth, prescription pills that were a schedule IV controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and a scale.
Tinkle was arrested and transported to the Martin County Security Center without incident.
