Last updated on Monday, August 21, 2017

(BLOOMINGTON) - Two people were arrested after Bloomington police say they attacked a man early Thursday morning.

According to Bloomington Police, a man called 911 shortly before 1 a.m. to say he was on his way to the hospital with his 23-year-old son who had been physically attacked by several men.

Police say a woman had invited the victim to meet her in the parking lot of a church in the 3100 block of Mount Pleasant Road.

When the victim arrived he got into the woman's car. That is when four men climbed over a fence and approached the vehicle.

The victim locked the doors, but the woman unlocked them allowing one of the men to grab him and pull him from the vehicle.

The men proceeded to kick and punch the victim repeatedly.

The victim suffered facial injuries, cuts and bruises to his legs and arms and shoulders during the incident.

On the way to the hospital, the victim and his father encountered the alleged assailants, whose car had broken down.

The victim's father got out of his vehicle with a rifle and approached the men demanding to know what happened to his son. The men confessed to the attack.

Bloomington Police went to the home of 21-year-old Kristen Sparks, in the 400 block of Kelli Drive in Ellettsville, and arrested her and 28-year-old Brandon Ogorman, who is suspected of initiating and carrying out the beating.

Ogorman is facing a charge of felony battery and Sparks is facing a charge of assisting a criminal.

Police say the case remains under investigation and other charges could be filed.
