(MITCHELL) - The 71st Annual Persimmon Festival Grand Parade will take place rain or shine today at 2 p.m.
Below you will find a list of today's Persimmon Festival events:
Pancake Breakfast at the Masonic Lodge located at Ninth and Brook St from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m.
7:30 a.m. registration for the Persimmon 5K, One Mile Fun Run, Persimmon 5K Walk at Mitchell High School. The run and walk will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the Kids run will follow at 10:30 a.m.
8-11 a.m. Persimmon Pudding Registration at the First Church of God
9:00 a.m. Tri-County Antique Tractor and Equipment Association located behind Hoosier Uplands, between Fifth and Sixth Streets in downtown Mitchell
9:00 a.m. Antique and Classic Car Show located at Mitchell Opera House Parking lot at seventh and Brook Streets. Participants can register on site.
9:30 a.m. Motorcycle Show located on the North side of the Mitchell Opera House. Participants can register on site.
10:00 a.m. Baby Contest located at Burris Elementary School, winners will be announced at 12:30 p.m.
1:00 p.m. Pre- Parade Introductions
2:00 p.m. Grand Parade, rain or shine
4:15 p.m. Persimmon Festival Awards for Persimmon Pudding Contest and Novelty Dessert Contest
4:30 p.m. Persimmon Idol Finals on the Main St. Stage
5:30 p.m. Nolan Cox on the Main St. Stage
7:30 p.m. Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders
Nolan Cox is one of Mitchell's very own and is a guitar player, blues lover, singer/songwriter.
Cody Ikerd and the Sidewinders is a Lawrence County native with music
influenced by Sturgill Simpson, Merle Haggard, Johnny Paycheck, Hank Williams Sr., Eagles, Hank III, Alan Jackson and many more.
