(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after Lawrence County Police were called to a home in the 1100 block of Sheridan Drive on a domestic dispute.
Police arrested 54-year-old Troy Sanders of Bedford on a charge of domestic battery.
According to Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, officers were called to the home in the 1100 block of Sheridan Drive at 11:19 a.m. on Sunday.
A female told police that she and Sanders got into a verbal dispute that turned violent.
"Mr. Sanders got mad and grabbed the woman by the hair and threw her on the floor," Chief Deputy Shoults says.
Sanders also hit the woman with a closed fist in the face.
"The victim suffered redness and bruising to her face, neck, back and both sides of her body," Chief Deputy Shoults added. "She refused medical attention at the scene.
Police found Sanders inside of the home and arrested him.
"He was transported to IU health hospital over concerns of medication he had taken earlier," Chief Deputy Shoults added. "He was later released and transported to the Lawrence County Jail."
