(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested on a rape charge after a 17-year-old girl’s mother reported 42-year-old Eugene Ellis had sexual assault her daughter.
Ellis was arrested felony charges of rape and criminal confinement causing bodily injury. He is being held in the Monroe County Jail on a $15,000.00 Surety and $500 cash bond.
Police say Ellis was a family member staying at the girl's home on Bloomington's southside when the rape happened Tuesday night.
The 17-year-old told police she went downstairs to find Ellis sleeping on the couch Tuesday. Ellis got up grabbed her from behind by the arm and around her torso and then picked her up and pulled her face-down on a lounge chair, held her arms and head down and took off her shorts and underwear and raped her.
The teen told police she attempted to kick, push and scream at Ellis to get away. Shortly after the first rape, Ellis allegedly grabbed the teen again and forced her on the couch and raped her a second time.
Ellis then fled the home and the teen called family members and friends for help. Her mother then called police and took her daughter to the hospital for treatment.
Police found Ellis at his friend's house on the far from the home where the rape occurred. Ellis denied the rape happened. But later admitted he and the teen did have oral sex, but it was consensual.
