(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man died of an apparent heroin overdose on Thursday.
According to Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams, 35-year-old Michael Sullivan was found dead in the bedroom at his girlfriend's home in the 3900 block of West Maybury Mall at about 7:30 p.m.
Bloomington Police Capt. Steve Kellams says, Sullivan's 30-year-old girlfriend found him on the ground beside her bed. A hypodermic needle and a small plastic bag with a thin layer of what police say was heroin was found beside him.
The girlfriend told police she found out the morning of Sullivan's death that he was doing heroin and the two argued and she left the home around 10 a.m. to do laundry. She stayed away from the home for the rest of the day, returning around 7:35 p.m., when she found Sullivan dead in the bedroom and called police.
