(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police are asking motorists to lock their vehicles after seeing an increase of thefts from vehicles.
According to police, most of the thefts have occurred north of 10th Street in neighborhoods surrounding North College Avenue and the North Walnut Street corridor.
According to the Department's Facebook page, approximately 80 percent of the theft were from unlocked vehicles and the majority of the remaining vehicle had items in plain view.
Police are asking motorists to always lock their vehicles and never leave anything valuable inside, including items such as purses and backpacks. And, if you see someone acting suspiciously, call 911 immediately.
