(LINTON) - A Logansport man was arrested in connection to the BloomBank robbery.
Linton Police arrested 59-year-old Vonny Craw on felony charge of robbery in connection with the August 18th robbery of BloomBank at 1450 A Street in Linton. According to court documents, a request has been filed to seek a habitual offender status. He was also wanted on a felony escape warrant from the Cass County Department of Corrections Facility.
Craw was arrested around 6 p.m. Tuesday night in Union County after ISP SWAT and members of the Fugitive Task Force -- which includes US Marshall Service received a tip that Craw was at the Liberty Motel in Liberty, Ind. He was booked into the Union County Jail to await extradition to Cass County.
According to a news release, police believe Craw fled from a work release program in Cass County, stole two cars and robbed the bank.
Craw was serving a sentence after pleading guilty to a 2010 armed robbery in Cass County, the Associated Press reported. He was transferred in July from the Miami Correctional Facility to Cass/Pulaski Community Corrections.
Police say he was a granted a leave on August 10th, took a car from a Logansport car dealership for a test drive, and didn't return it.
Police said Craw is also a person of interest in other armed robberies and car thefts in southern Indiana since his escape.
