(TRAFAGLAR) - A Morgan County woman died and one of her dogs died after the pickup she was in crashed into a tree on Bean Blossom Road near Trafalgar Sunday afternoon.
According to a Brown County Police report, 70-year-old Stephen Clark of Martinsville was driving south on Bean Blossom Road when he moved to the side of the road for an approaching vehicle.
According to police the passenger side tires of the 2002 Ford F-150 truck dropped off the edge of the road. Clark overcorrected causing his truck to cross the centerline, went off the road and crashed into a tree.
Police say 54-year-old Michelle Clark died at the scene. Stephen Clark, who was injured, was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital for treatment
The couple had two dogs in the truck with them. One died after hitting the windshield. The second dog was found outside the truck, seriously injured, and transported by Brown County Animal Control to a veterinary hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.
