(SEYMOUR) - A small fire in a standalone cooler in the grocery section of the Walmart Supercenter on Seymour’s east side on Sunday led to the temporary closure of the store.
The fire was reported at about 7 p.m. and was contained to the cooler and put out quickly, says Seymour Fire Department Capt. Chris Allman.
The fire created a lot of smoke in the store at 1600 East Tipton St. and officials say health regulations requires that food not be sold until the store can be cleaned up and inspected.
Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour and a half.
