(MITCHELL) - Two people were arrested after the Lawrence County Drug Task Force and SWAT raided a Mitchell home on Tuesday.
Police arrested 40-year-old Tony Cassidy and 28-year-old Jessica Bugh, both of Mitchell, on charges of possession of meth and maintaining a common nuisance.
Cassidy is also facing charges of unlawful possession of a syringe, resisting arrest by force and he was wanted on a warrant for additional criminal activity.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers raided a home in the 600 block of South Fifth Street in Mitchell after receiving information of possible drugs and drug paraphernalia in the home.
When police arrived, they found Cassidy outside and he had to be physically restrained after failing to cooperate with police.
Bugh was inside the home during the incident.
Inside the home police found drug paraphernalia, meth inside a tin, a syringe and baggie inside of a purse and another syringe and baggie with meth banded together. They also seized a .380-caliber handgun.
