Two Injured In Three-Vehicle Crash On US 50 East

Last updated on Thursday, September 21, 2017

(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on US 50 East, Wednesday night.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 30-year-old Brigitte Gurden of Greenwood was stopped behind a car pulling into a parking lot across from Woody Farm Road. She told police the car slowed and was waiting for traffic to clear. Police say Gurden's 2015 Lincoln was struck in the rear by a 2006 Jeep Commander driven by 35-year-old Sarah Enoch of Bedford.

Police say Enoch was stopped behind Gurden waiting on the vehicle in front of Gurden to turn when her Jeep was struck in the rear by a 2006 Trailblazer driven by 51-year-old Jessica Bertsch of Seymour.

Bertsch told police she was traveling east on US 50 and didn't see the stopped vehicles.

Police say when Bertsch rear-ended the Jeep it caused the Jeep to crash into the Lincoln.

Gurden complained of pain and was taken by private vehicle to IU Health Hospital for treatment. Enoch complained of knee and lower leg pain and was transported by ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment. Bertsch was not injured.
