(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured in an accident at US 50 East and Pumphouse Road on Thursday morning.
According to a Bedford Police report the accident happened at 7:46 a.m.
Police say 38-year-old Brandy Cundiff of Bedford told police she was traveling south on US 50 East approaching 29th Street and believed she had the green light.
At the same time, 38-year-old Kylie Chenault of Bedford was traveling west on 29th Street and told police she had stopped at the stop light when it turned green and she drove her 2008 Ford Focus across the intersection in order to travel straight onto Pumphouse Road.
Chenault told police she got across the intersection and was suddenly struck by a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze on her passenger side in the southbound lane.
An IU Health Hospital ambulance transported both women, who suffered non-life threatening injures, to a local hospital for treatment.
Police were assisted at the scene by firefighters with the Bedford Fire Department, as well as an off-duty nurse, paramedic and off-duty volunteer firefighter.
