United Way Spreading Cheer With Painted Rocks

Last updated on Wednesday, September 13, 2017

(BEDFORD) - United Way spreading cheer with painted rocks.

Lorri Hamer, executive director of the United Way of South Central Indiana, says United Way volunteers have place more than 200 painted rocks at various locations throughout the community for citizens to find.

The front of the rocks will feature various designs, agency logos and positive sayings with the United Way and member agency logos on the back. Some of the rocks have smiley faces, hearts or other happy images.

After finding United Way agency rocks take a photo and upload the photo to Facebook with the hashtag #urocks.

An anonymous donor has agreed to donate $1 for every time a rock is posted on Facebook with that hashtag.

After posting the image, please hide the rock again for someone else to find and hopefully keep the cycle going.

Rocks are hidden around the Bedford and Mitchell areas.
