Bedford Man Arrested After Domestic Fight

Last updated on Monday, October 9, 2017

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly strangled and punched a woman during a domestic fight.

Bedford Police arrested 44-year-old Thomas O'Quinn on charges of strangulation, domestic battery, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to a home in the 1720 block of 27th Street after a woman reported O'Quinn had grabbed her by the throat and nearly caused her to pass out. She then claims he threw her over the couch and started punching her in the face.

The woman told police she hit O'Quinn with an object, then ran next door to call police.

Police say O'Quinn told officers he and the woman got in an argument and she came after him and he grabbed her in an attempt to keep her from hitting him. He claims he bumped her with his hip, which caused her to fall on the couch.

O'Quinn told officers he had meth in his jean pocket, but when police tested the white-powdery substance they found it was cocaine. They also seized several smoking devices.
