(LOOGOOTEE) - The Indiana Department of Transportation says the westbound lanes of U.S. 50 between mile markers 36 and 37 outside of Loogootee will be shut down due to sliding of the road bed.
INDOT Crews will begin work on Thursday to install a temporary signal to divert traffic into the eastbound lane.
While the temporary signal is in place, the lane closures will be in effect around the clock.
The slide correction is expected to take about 10 months to complete.
