(BLOOMINGTON) - Beginning Monday, October 9, Vernal Pike will be reduced to a single lane of traffic from Industrial Drive to Crescent Road.
Eastbound and westbound traffic on Vernal Pike will share a single open lane controlled by temporary signals.
Westbound traffic will stop just west of Crescent Drive. Eastbound traffic will stop 1,000 feet west of Industrial Drive. A temporary barrier wall will be placed for the protection of both workers and motorists in the area.
The restriction will be in place to allow for construction activities on Industrial Drive near Vernal Pike, including excavation and grading, installation of drainage, subbase treatment and paving. The temporary signals will be placed to ensure traffic mobility during construction. Motorists using Vernal Pike should be aware of changing traffic conditions.
The single lane configuration will be in place eight weeks, weather permitting. Motorists should plan ahead for the new lane restrictions and traffic signals.
