(MITCHELL) - A Orleans man was injured after he crashed his pickup at the Lawrence/Orange County line this morning.
The accident happened on State Road 37, just north of Dillon Road.
According to Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, 29-year-old Josiah Lee Morgan was traveling north on State Road 37 in a 1989 Ford F-150 pickup truck when the truck ran off the east side of the highway, traveled down a small embankment and struck a Duke Energy utility pole.
"Mr. Morgan was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated," Chief Deputy Shoults added.
Morgan was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and he could not recall why he ran off the roadway. Police believe Morgan fell asleep.
Morgan suffered injuries to his entire body, including serious injuries to his right leg. He was transported from the scene by StatFlight medical helicopter and taken to the University of Louisville Hospital.
There were no other passengers in the vehicle.
