(UNDATED) - A caucus on Monday determined the new representative of Indiana’s 63rd District.
The Indiana Republican Party says Shane Lindauer was selected to fill the seat held by Republican Mike Braun.
Braun announced he would resign effectively by November 1, to run for U.S. Senate. Lindauer will fill the remainder of Braun's term.
The 63rd District covers Dubois, Daviess, and Pike County.
Indiana Republican Party State Chairman Kyle Hupfer issued this statement following the selection of Shane Lindauer.
"On behalf of the Indiana Republican Party, I congratulate Shane Lindauer on winning today's caucus to fill the vacancy that will come following State Representative Mike Braun's planned resignation.
"We look forward to Representative-elect Shane Lindauer becoming a valuable member of the House Republican Caucus team that continues to provide leadership and results for every Hoosier taxpayer and family."
