(BEDFORD) - Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Harold Smith Road on Saturday night.
According to a Lawrence County Police report, there was heavy rain reducing visibility and the roads were slick at the time of the crash at 5:15 p.m.
According to police Nicholas Franklin, of 406 Kentucky Hollow Rd., was traveling west on Harold Smith Road and had came around a curve when the tires of his 2008 General Motors Yukon lost traction. The vehicle went left of center and into the path of a 2010 Kia Sedona driven by 79-year-old Elisha Fleetwood of Mitchell.
Franklin complained of neck pain and bleeding to both hands. Fleetwood suffered minor bleeding from a laceration to his left arm. His front seat passenger and wife 70-year-old Nancy Fleetwood complained of left rib pain. The Fleetwoods were transported to IU Health Bloomington for treatment. Franklin was treated at the scene.
Police say both vehicles had heavy front end damage.
Assisting at the scene were first responders with Shawswick and Marshall Volunteer Fire Departments and an AMR ambulance crew.
