(SHOALS) - A Shoals man was arrested early Tuesday morning after he was stopped for a traffic violation on County Farm Road.
At 2:16 a.m. Martin County Sheriff's Office Deputy Tyler Reed was on patrol on County Farm Road when he observed a vehicle at the intersection of County Farm Road and Hickory Ridge Road commit a moving violation.
Deputy Reed initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, 37-year-old Jason Hudson.
ISP Trooper Andrew Beaver and Loogootee Police Officer Kevin McBeth arrived to assist.
Deputy Reed utilized his narcotics-certified K9 Virka for a free air sniff of the exterior of Hudson's vehicle. Virka gave a positive indication for the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and police found a small rubber container containing a white residue. That residue tested positive of meth.
Hudson was arrested and taken to the Martin County Security Center on charges of possession of meth and maintaining a common nuisance.
