(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man suffered a possible fractured or dislocated hip or leg in an accident Monday afternoon at the intersection of State Road 58 and X Street.
According to a Bedford Police report, 54-year-old David Harding of Bedford was traveling east on Sate Road 58 near the intersection of X Street. At the same time a 17-year-old male was traveling west on State Road 58 and had just passed the X Street intersection.
Harding told police he was attempting to answer his phone when his "frosty" spilled. Harding told police he didn't realize his 2007 General Motors Envoy had drifted into the other lane until till it was too late and his vehicle collided with the teen's 2006 Mazda.
Harding was given a breathalyzer test and police say it showed he had been drinking before the accident. Harding did agree to have a blood-draw at IU Health Hospital and those results are pending.
The teen suffered a possible fracture or dislocation of his hip or upper leg and was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. Harding was not injured during the incident.
