(JACKSON CO.) - The Salvation Army Service Extension of Jackson County is gearing up for the annual ringing of bells as part of its Red Kettle Campaign.
The organization is needing a kettle coordinator to oversee this year's campaign -- a paid position -- and local volunteers. The kickoff starts Nov. 17 and runs until Dec. 23.
The Red Kettle funds support the local community. Money raised here stays here, helping provide emergency assistance to Jackson County residences.
The Emergency Assistance Program provides direct financial assistance for utilities, lodging, rent, transportation, medical needs, food, clothing, disaster assistance and other emergency needs.
The Salvation Army office is encouraging residents and members of churches, service groups, organizations and more to consider volunteering for the campaign.
If you are willing to help The Salvation Army of Jackson County, call Kendall at 812-522-8718 to schedule a time to ring or for interest in being this year's kettle coordinator.
