(WASHINGTON) - Two Washington residents were killed in an accident Monday night at US 50 and State Road 57, south of Washington and police are looking for witnesses.
According to Daviess County Police, a semi tractor-trailer t-boned a passenger car at the intersection.
Police say Brett Ramsey of Wheatland was traveling eastbound on US 50 in a 2006 Freightliner and struck a 2012 Toyota Prius driven by Marilyn Mattes who was traveling southbound on State Road 57.
Marilyn Mattes and her granddaughter Katilyn Mattes were pronounced dead at the scene.
Ramsey who was also injured and was taken by ambulance to Daviess Community Hospital for treatment.
Daviess County Chief Deputy Gary Allison says the crash remains under investigation and is asking that anyone who witnessed the accident to call the department at (812) 254-1060.
