(BEDFORD) - Hoosier Uplands through its Community Development and Improvement Program (CDIP) continues to strive to make improvements to local communities.
This years grants have been awarded to the Bedford North Lawrence Career Center, Washington County Economic Growth Partnership, the West Baden Colored Church Restoration Project, the Town of Orleans, Orange County Humane Society, Shawswick Township Trustee, YMCA of Washington County, the Town of Shoals, Spring Mill State Park and several sidewalk and other improvements for the Town of Mitchell.
"We are currently in the process of the demolition of two more blighted home in Mitchell on Main Street, which will further enhance the look of downtown," says David Miller, Hoosier Uplands Chief Executive Officer. "We already have applications for 2018 which will continue to improve our area in a wide range of ways. The CDIP funds are limited but we try to make the most impact we can with those funds."
The CDIP program was created by Hoosier Uplands in 2012 and is funded by non-federal or state tax dollars generated by Hoosier Uplands.
