(BEDFORD) - A Norman child was injured after a two-vehicle crash at Washington Avenue and 25th Street on Thursday morning.
According to a Bedford Police report, 25-year-old Lindsay Mejia of Norman was stopped on Washington Avenue facing south, waiting to turn onto 25th Street when her 2018 Ford Escape was struck in the rear by a 20043 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by 19-year-old Kylie Capps of Bedford.
Capps told police that she didn't see Majia's car stop in front of her and could not get stopped in time to avoid the rear-end collision.
Mejia and Capps were not injured during the incident.
Police say an 11-month-old suffered an abrasion to her neck from the car seat. She was looked at by an IU Health Hospital ambulance crew at the scene. Bedford Police Officer Brain Sorrells transported the mother and baby to Southern Indiana Pediatrics, their original destination before the accident.
