(BEDFORD) - Two people were arrested after police received reports of them fighting in the middle of Mitchell Road Saturday night.
According to Bedford Assistant Chief Joe DeWeese says officer were called to the 2700 block of Mitchell Road at 3:27 p.m. after motorist reported a male and female were in the middle of the road arguing.
"Motorist had to go around them so they wouldn't hit them," DeWeese added. "Officers told the two to stay out of the roadway and stop the fighting."
But that didn't happen the two continued to argue and were found in the middle of the road on 28th Street.
Police arrested 29-year-old Hogan Abner, of Oolitic, on charges of public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct and 34-year-old Jessica Douglas on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Assistant Chief DeWeese says both Abner and Douglas fought with officer as they attempted to put them in the police vehicle.
"Both screamed and yelled and were spitting all the way to the jail," says DeWeese.
