(OOLITIC) - A 38-year-old Bedford man was arrested on Wednesday after he ran from an Oolitic deputy.
Joshua McBride is facing charges of possession of meth, resisting arrest by force, resisting arrest by fleeing and synthetic identity deception.
He was also wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court.
On Wednesday an Oolitic deputy marshal saw McBride leaving Casey's General Store and recognized McBride as having a warrant.
As the officer approached McBride, he gave the officer a false name and took off running.
After a short foot pursuit McBride was arrested.
While being booked into the jail on the outstanding warrant, a jail officer found a small plastic baggie with a white residue in McBride's wallet. The substance tested positive for meth.
