(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police have arrested one man and are looking for two others in connection to an assault and burglary that sent a 33-year-old man to the hospital Wednesday.
The victim told police that he had been sleeping in a truck, owned by one of the three men who pulled him out of the vehicle and beat him up. They then drove him to the house of a relative, where they stole electronics and other valuables.
The victim was able to give the names of those who committed the crime.
At 11:05 p.m. Thursday, officer found 23-year-old Nathon Scott standing next to the Chevrolet truck believed to be used during the assault and robbery in the 1400 block of West 13th Street.
Officers found small pieces of broken glass in the bed of the truck, which matched the victim's story of having his head hit against the window of the truck's camper shell, causing it to break.
Scott told police the victim had borrowed $40 from him, but had not paid him back and was angry abut that. Scott told officers that he and the two men went to the truck where he had let the man sleep in, pulled him out. Scott told police that he and another man beat the victim with their fists while the third man used a pair of brass knuckles to beat the victim.
Scott told police he and the two men then forced the victim back into the truck and they drove to the house of the victim's relative where they took a television and an airsoft pistol and drove away.
Scott was arrested at 2 a.m. Friday on preliminary charges of robbery, burglary, intimidation and kidnapping. His bond was set at $10,500.
Police are still searching for two other suspects - a 23-year-old white man and a 27-year-old black man.
