(BLOOMINGTON) - Crews from City of Bloomington Utilities will repair a water main break in the 2400 block of South Walnut Street today, weather permitting. The work is expected to begin at approximately 7:30 a.m.
"We won't know the extent of the leak in the 12-inch water line until the excavation is well underway," said CBU Public Affairs Specialist Jon Callahan. "Depending on the severity of the repair, our crews could remain on the scene up to eight hours, possibly even longer."
The repair will take place in southbound lanes, reducing southbound traffic to one lane. Northbound traffic should not be impacted. Signage will be used to direct traffic around the repair area, and motorists are advised to adjust their speed accordingly when traveling through the work zone.
CBU does not anticipate a service outage due to this work.
