Indiana State Police Searching For Bank Robber

(FARMERSBURG) - Police are searching for a man who made off with an undisclosed amount of cash in a robbery of the First Financial Bank branch in Farmersburg Tuesday.

The man handed a teller a note demanding money at about 4 p.m., according to a news release from Indiana State Police.

"No weapons were displayed but threats were allegedly inferred," Sgt. Joe Watts said in the release. No one was injured in the incident."

The robber fled on foot but may have had a car waiting nearby, authorities said, noting a police dog lost the man's trail north of the bank that is located at Main Street and US 41.

The man being sought is described as white, in his 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and red athletic style shoes. No description is available of a possible getaway car.

Employees of some nearby businesses said officers showed them pictures of the suspect from a bank surveillance camera but none recognized him.
