(BLOOMFIELD) - A recent narcotics investigation conducted by multiple agencies has now led to the arrest of another Bloomfield woman involved in drug trafficking.
The Bloomfield Police Department, Greene County Drug Task Force, Jasonville Police Department, Linton Police Department, Worthington Police Department, the Greene County Prosecutor's Office, the Indiana State Police A.C.E.S (Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Section) the ISP DES (Drug Enforcement Section) and numerous Federal Agencies all took part in this Drug Trafficking investigation.
During the months of October and November 2017, Indiana State Police Bloomington ACES Trooper Richard Klun along with the assistance of Greene County Prosecutor's Office Investigator Joshua Goodman, conducted controlled buys in which 37-year-old Erica Smith, of Bloomfield sold methamphetamine. Information gained by those officers led to an arrest warrant being requested and then issued by the Greene Circuit Court for Smith.
Upon the warrant being issued, Trooper Richard Klun, Trooper Taylor Lowry and Bloomfield Police Officer Jordan Allor attempted to locate Smith at her apartment in Bloomfield. Officers learned that Smith had filed a notice to vacate and had moved out of her apartment that morning.
The investigation lead officers along with the US Marshalls Task Force to a residence on the east side of Indianapolis where Smith was located and taken into custody on Wednesday, November 22nd on two counts of dealing meth between one and five grams and dealing meth between 5 and 10 grams.
