(MITCHELL) - An Orleans man was arrested after police found him with a handgun, meth and marijuana.
Mitchell police pulled over 45-year-old Shannon Thomas on Sunday at Teke Burton Road and West Main Street because his license plate light wasn't working.
When police asked Thomas to step out of the vehicle they noticed that he had a handgun on his side. Thomas didn't have a permit for the weapon. Police also discovered that Thomas had meth and marijuana on his person.
Thomas was arrested for carrying a hand gun without a permit, possession of meth and marijuana.
Thomas posted a $2,005 cash bond and was release from jail on Monday. He is scheduled to appear for an initial hearing on December 27th at 8:30 a.m. in Lawrence County Superior Court I.
