(NASHVILLE) - A Nashville teen who was reported as a runaway last week has been found safe in Texas with a 35-year-old man.
Nashville Police Chief Ben Seastrom said the 17-year-old female was a runaway just before midnight Dec. 11th. The teen sent her mother a message saying she was not coming home and then turned her cell phone off.
Police obtained a search warrant for the girl's phone and were able to locate her in Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday morning.
Chief Seastrom says the male, who the girl had meet online, came to Indiana to meet her and the two left together.
The teen is being held by authorities in Texas as her parents work with the Brown County Probation Department to bring her home.
No charges have yet been filed yet against the man. The Brown County Prosecutor's office is reviewing the case.
