(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) — The Jefferson County Coroner’s office says a Seymour man died from blunt force trauma.
According to Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Steve Moran, 41-year-old Ivan Bridgewater died Saturday, Dec. 9th at the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant on Chamberlain Lane.
The coroner says the exact cause of the trauma is still under investigation.
Emergency crews rushed to the plant around 1 a.m.
Louisville police spokesman Dwight Mitchell said in a statement that Bridgewater died at the scene "as a result of electrical shock."
Ford's Manufacturing and Labor Communications Manager Kelli Felker released the following statement Saturday afternoon on behalf of the company:
"We are deeply saddened by the death of an employee early this morning at Kentucky Truck Plant. Our condolences go out to his family, friends and co-workers during this difficult time.
We are cooperating with the investigation into the cause of death."
