(SHOALS) - A search warrant leads to vehicle pursuit and arrest of Shoals man on several felony charges on Monday.
According to a Martin County Police report, officers arrested 36-year-old Cary Clifton on changes of possession of meth, resisting law enforcement, reckless driving, operating a vehicle while intoxicated refusal and endangerment, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance.
Clifton was arrested after police served a search warrant at his home on US 150 near Shoals just after 4:10 p.m.
When officers entered the home they found meth in plain view. They also located controlled substances and marijuana.
A short time later, Clifton arrived at the home and after seeing police, fled East on US 150 in a 1992 Ford F-150.
Sheriff Travis Roush and Sgt. Keith Keller pursued Clifton onto Windom Road with speeds in excess of double the posted speed limit. The pursuit ended near Tedrow Road where Clifton was arrested.
Assisting with the search were Deputy Tyler Reed, Sheriff Travis Roush, Chief Deputy Josh Greene and Sergeant Keith Keller.
