(BLOOMINGTON) - A 17-year-old male was arrested Friday after he allegedly stabbed a woman with a steak knife.
According to Bloomington police, a 34-year-old woman called police around 10:30 a.m. to report she and a juvenile family member had gotten into an argument at an apartment on West Third Street.
The woman told police the teen grabbed a steak knife and began chasing her into the parking lot outside the apartment, where she claims he stabbed her in the right arm.
In an attempt to flee from the teen the woman fell in the roadway where the teen allegedly struck the woman in the head with a concrete block he picked up during his pursuit of the woman.
The woman was able to flee and get to a nearby tobacco store to call police. The teen was arrested and taken to Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village, a treatment center in Knox County for at-risk youth.
The woman was treated by an ambulance crew at the scene, but later called police saying she was suffering severe pain and drove herself to a local hospital for treatment.
