(WASHINGTON) - Andy Burkhardt, a major with the Martin County Sheriff’s Department, announced that he is running on the Democratic ticket for Martin County Sheriff.
Burkhardt, 51, has served with the department for more than 20 years. He was a Loogootee Police officer for seven years before joining the sheriff's department.
Sheriff Travis Roush is also intending to run for a second term on the Republican ticket.
