Bertha's Mission Looking For Location To Serve Mitchell Residents

Last updated on Monday, January 29, 2018

(MITCHELL) - Janice Nickeo Pendergrass, founder and director of Bertha’s Mission is searching for a new location to service meals to the hungry.

"While it has been since Oct. 1, 2017 that our Bertha's Mission satellite partnership with the First Church of God in Mitchell ended on good terms, I can't help but think about all the people who are not receiving a free, onsite, healthy, cooked meal," Pendergrass says.

Bertha's Mission meal delivery is still provides healthy meals for to the elderly, children, disabled and homebound and homeless in the Mitchell area, but there are more than 100 individuals - 800 meals a month on days of operation - that visited the community kitchen at the church and are not receiving meals now.

Pendergrass says God will provide and hopes to find a building or partnership with another church or location to begin serving meals in Mitchell once more.

If you have a location available or could assist with a partnership contact Pendergrass at Bertha's Mission.
