Fire Chief Brad Sparks says the fire started in a rear upstairs apartment when one of the residents fell asleep while cooking. The fire was concentrated in the kitchen and dining room area. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze within minutes.
The rear apartment experienced smoke, fire and water damage, while the front apartment had smoke and water damage.
