(MARTINSVILLE) - The fisherman recovered from a Martinsville pond has been identified.
Police say 51-year-old Gregory Davis of Camby was lifelined from IU Health Morgan to IU Methodist in critical condition. Upon arrival, he was pronounced deceased.
Indiana conservation officers were called to a private pond in the 5800 block of Hackers Creek Road after the property owner noticed footprints walking on the ice leading to a hole with fishing equipment but there was no fisherman or returning footprints.
He then called 911.
The Washington Township Fire Department dive team was first on scene and recovered Davis from the icy water.
Assisting agencies include Morgan County Sheriff Department, Washington Township Fire Department, Harrison Township Fire Department, Morgan County EMS, Martinsville Fire Department, Green Township Fire Department and Paragon Fire Department.
