(SEYMOUR) - A man arrested in Switzerland County has been returned to Jackson County to stand trial for his role in an incident that took place two years ago.
24-year-old Justin Oliver of Madison is being held without bond on charges of battery, robbery and criminal confinement. He was arrested after a domestic fight in Switzerland County.
The Jackson County incident happened on Jan. 13, 2016 at a Seymour motel. According to police Oliver and another man, 20-year-old Ethan Pierce, of Seymour, allegedly beat and robbed a 16-year-old boy. Police say the two men entered the locked motel room, assaulted the teen and stole his wallet.
Seymour Capt. Carl Lamb says police couldn't locate Oliver because he was on the run and that is why it took so long to arrest him.
Pierce was arrested shortly after the incident and pleaded guilty to a burglary charge. According to Jackson County Circuit Court records, on August 30, 2016, Pierce was sentenced to nine years in prison
