(SEYMOUR) - A man accused of raping a 16-year-old girl in Jackson County on Feb. 20, 2016 has been arrested.
Police arrested Kemberly Florvil in Florida.
Authorities say that on the day of the rape, the then-18-year-old Florvil was in a car with the victim and several others as they were traveling from Bloomington to Seymour. Days after the incident the victim told police that over the course of the trip, she was sexually assaulted by Florvil and another man in the car.
The victim told police that, during the incident, she was afraid that the pair might hurt her.
Just after the incident FLorvil denied the allegations and told police he had never been in the backseat with the victim.
DNA samples were taken from both men.
In June 2017, Florvil was charged with rape and battery resulting in bodily injury. The second man was not charges because he was killed in a car accident before the DNA test results were obtained.
Forvil was arrested in Florida and transported back to Jackson County on Jan. 13.
