(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested after police say he injured an 11-year-old boy.
Police arrested 29-year-old Todd Montgomery on Saturday on a felony charge of battery on a person younger than 14-years-old.
According to a Lawrence County Superior Court I probable cause affidavit, a Mitchell Police Department officer went to Pioneer Creek Apartments after a report of a domestic dispute.
A woman and her 11-year-old son told police that Montgomery grabbed the boy around the neck and threw him to the ground, injuring him.
Montgomery told police that he had the right to discipline the boy and could do whatever he wanted as long as he didn't leave a mark.
He remained in the Lawrence County Jail on a $7,500 surety or $755 cash bond. Montgomery was ordered to have no contact with the boy.
