(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell woman was arrested Thursday night after police found meth in her vehicle.
Mitchell Police arrested 31-year-old Joni Knight on charges of possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe, neglect of a dependent, possession of marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance and driving while her driver's license
was suspended.
An Indiana State trooper stopped Knight's vehicle on State Road 37, near Arby's, shortly after midnight. Mitchell Police were called to the scene to assist.
Knight, who had her two children with her, was acting suspicious as the officers asked her to get out of the car. They discovered that she could not stand on her own.
Knight then gave police consent to search her car. Officers found a plastic bag with a rock-like substance in the middle console of the car. The substance tested positive for meth. They also found a syringe inside her purse. Once at the jail, a jail officer found Knight with a small baggie of marijuana.
