(PAOLI) - Indiana University Health has announced it will no longer delivery babies at IU Health Paoli Hospital.
After nearly 60 years, the service will discontinue at the end of March. The IU Health fact sheet noted that, after March 30th, deliveries will be provided at IU Health Bloomington Hospital or the facility of the patient's choice.
The hospital system cites declining birth numbers as the reason it plans to close its obstetrics unit, which will affect about 10 full-time employees. They will be offered other jobs in the IU Health system. Those who do not accept a job at an IU Health facility will be offered severance pay.
