(STATEHOUSE) - Applications are open for students interested in participating in the Indiana House Page Program during the 2018 legislative session, according to State Rep. Chris May (R-Bedford).
Pages have an opportunity to join May during the legislative session and tour the governor's office, the Indiana Supreme Court, and the House and Senate chambers.
"Being a page is a great way to get a firsthand look at how laws are made in Indiana," May said. "I hope to see many students from our community participate in this unique learning experience."
To be a page, applicants should be between the ages of 13 and 18. May said student pages receive an excused absence from school and groups can sign up to participate together.
The 2018 legislative session began Wednesday and must conclude by March 14.
May said page positions fill quickly and encouraged participants to apply early online at www.indianahouserepublicans.com/pageprogram or by calling 800-382-9841.
State Rep. Chris May (R-Bedford) represents House District 65, which includes all of Brown County, most of Lawrence County and parts of Monroe, Jackson and Johnson counties.
