(HARDINSBURG) - A three hour standoff between a female and police ended peacefully.
Just after 1 a.m. this morning, police arrested 49-year-old Katrina Eilleen Heath of Hardinsburg on charges of attempted murder, criminal recklessness while armed with a deadly weapon, intimidation, pointing a loaded firearm at another person, resisting law enforcement by drawing or using a firearm. She is being held at the Washington County Detention Center without bond.
The incident leading to Heath's arrest began shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, when the Washington County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call from a male involved in a domestic situation with weapons at 102 Lapping Road in Hardinsburg.
When deputies and troopers arrived they found the male in the front yard. He told police that he and his ex-wife, Heath had got into an argument earlier in the evening and he left the home to run errands. When he returned home Heath threatened him with a firearm and allegedly fired a round from the weapon.
The male then left the home and called 911. Heath remained in the home.
Police set up a perimeter around the home and waited until State Police negotiators and SWAT members arrived on the scene.
At 9:18 p.m., Heath surrendered to officers.
